Lil Wayne’s 2008-2009 North America tour grossed approximately $42 million and drew around 804,000 concertgoers.

Lil Wayne's I Am Music Tour (Dec. 14, 2008-Jan. 28, 2009) had guest artists Keyshia Cole, T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes and Keri Hilson. Wayne's America's Most Wanted Music Festival (July 27-September 6, 2009) had Young Jeezy, Drake (who only appeared at three shows due to an injury), Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, Jeremih and Pleasure P.

Lil Wayne's tour producer and tour business manager Shawn Gee said, "It's definitely one of the biggest in the last couple of years; our plan was to prove that Wayne was a viable headlining arena artist. We strategically put the I Am Music package together to make sure that all segments of Wayne's fanbase would be interested in one, if not, all of the opening acts. We had T-Pain as an opening act, who's had hits over all formats of radio; we had Keyshia Cole, who is more of an urban-leaning female; and we had Gym Class Heroes, which is more alternative."

The list of the highest-grossing rap tours are:

1. Lil Wayne (2008-2009) at $42 Million
2. Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige (2008) at $34.6 Million
3. Kanye West’s (2008 Glow In The Dark Tour) at $30.8 Million
4. Eminem/50 Cent- Anger Management (2005) at $22.7 Million
