H.N.I.C. Part 2 is the third solo album by Prodigy (a member of Mobb Deep) and is a follow up to the 2000 album H.N.I.C. The acronym means Head Nigga In Charge.
Prodigy is heading to prison for three years on a gun charge, so for awhile, H.N.I.C. Part 2 will have to hold you over until he gets out. A DVD (called Free P) containing videos of every song was released in July.

The album opens with “Real Power Is People”. The line “Money is worthless, real power is people” is classic. So many times in rap all you hear about is the glory of money and it is different to hear someone encouraging people and giving them the power.

The single “ABC” is a great boast and violent (“Boy I'll bullet riddle you up and chop you into parts”) track. “It don't matter who popping for the moment/P is forever, it don't matter what's the new hot shit/My shit better”. I love the lines “You're upset your wife got my CD in the changer/And you rap too and she don't bump your bangers/Your shit wack and then on top/Your life style don't match the shit you pop”. I just love the kid’s choir accompanying Prodigy on the chorus. I think it goes back to my days in choir, but any violent song with a choir is cool.

There is a video bonus track on the album for the song “Dirty New Yorker” which was used in Grand Theft Auto IV.

“H.N.I.C. who holding NYC huh?”…Prodigy that’s who.
